Safety Considerations

We want you to have an exciting and enjoyable time on Catawba Cruising, but rest assured, boating safety is our top priority. That’s why we do not allow smoking, vaping, firearms, drugs, or pets onboard. Consumption of alcohol is not allowed for guests under age 21. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children under 13 must always wear a Personal Flotation Device (PFD) while the boat is in operation.

WAIVER
All passengers will need to sign a waiver prior to boarding. All swimming, water activities, and general activities off the vessel are at the passenger’s own risk.

WEATHER
We’ve grown up on Lake Erie and we know that weather can change. Cloudbursts can pop up anytime without warning, and windy conditions can be a factor too. It is our commitment to keep you apprised of weather changes so that your safety is ensured.

PERSONAL MOBILITY
Boating can be physically demanding, especially a full-day cruise. An individual’s mobility should be considered before booking with us. We can gently assist passengers boarding and de-boarding, but each guest needs to be able to do that without help.

BOATING GEAR
Each passenger will be provided with a Personal Flotation Device (PFD). We have a variety of adult sizes (S-XXL), but if you need a special size life jacket, please let us know in advance. Our Formula 350 Sun Sport is equipped with all required safety equipment, and we maintain the Aqua Vita year-round.

REGULATIONS
Per Coast Guard and State of Ohio regulations, children under 13 must always wear a PFD while the boat is in operation.

We also adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, and follow all guidelines of the U.S. Coast Guard related to illegal drug use and underage drinking. Anyone who appears to be under 40 will have their ID checked at the dock if alcohol is to be consumed onboard.

Please Note: If at any time, the captain or crew feels an individual or individuals pose a threat to the safety of anyone onboard, we reserve the right to immediately terminate the charter with no refund.
